Madrid Day 1

So I've been awake for 30 hours now without sleep so bare with me as I try to recap today's events (then I'm going to pass out asleep).  I boarded my flight this morning out of DFW at 1pm expecting to take off at 1:20 only to sit on the runway for an 1.5 hours because of congestion in the New York area airspace.  I luckily made it to Newark without trouble in time for my flight to Madrid.  Our flight to Madrid wasn't as bad as I initially thought it would be.  I ended up watching two movies rather then sleeping which I may regret later.

But we arrived in Madrid around 10:20am this morning and spent 45 minutes or so wandering around looking for Terminal 2 where we were supposed to catch a bus to the train station.  After awhile we figured out where we were supposed to be and made it to the train station alright.  While we were there, we went ahead and reserved our train tickets for Sevilla and Barcelona for this week of our trip.  We then went looking for our hostel which wasn't as easy to find as we had hoped.  We ended up asking for directions multiple times and finally some policeman with the help of an Iphone got us to the right area.  So we got to the hostel around two, put our stuff in the room and headed out into town to look for lunch.

Tonight we went and saw a bullfight at Plaza de Toros which was pretty interesting but sad at the same time.  I knew going into it that the bulls died, but it was sad watching it.  But I'm trying to keep perspective that it's a different culture over here, so it's whatever I guess.  I prefer to not watch animals die and watch horses get rammed by Bulls, but that's me.

Tomorrow we are hitting all the main tourist attractions so there should be plenty of more pictures uploaded soon.  Talk to everyone tomorrow.
